For #ECDay2017 the Interreg V-A SKHU programme has announced the start of its first approved projects. Four projects have been selected to represent the programme on the occasion of European Cooperation Day. The common characteristic of the chosen projects was that they all serve public interest in their own special way.

The first event, that took place on 20 September 2017, was an opening press conference. The project aims the environmental education of school children through an interactive mobile exhibition and laboratory, as well as outdoor activities with bikes and canoes. The other core element of the project is to create the fundamental documents of a future natural park in the area of Szigetköz (HU) and Žitného ostrova (SK).

The next two events on 21 September 2017 dealt with people with disability and silver economy. The Eurokey project announced its start during a press conference. Their purpose is to introduce a universal key system to Hungary with the cooperation of more experiences Slovak partners. By installing this key system to public buildings people with reduced mobility have easier access to these places with the universal key. The initiative has been spreading all through Europe, and finally Hungary can join to such an important improvement. 
The Silver economy project organized a roundtable discussion, where the invited experts addressed the pressing needs of an ageing society in their presentations. The project is linked to the current trends in Europe’s demographics, and the effects on older adults’ quality of life and on the wider European economy. The aim of the project to strengthen the cross-border inter-institutional relations among those organizations that are involved in silver economy, as well as to facilitate the promotion of ‘silver’ products and services. 
On 22 September 2017 the SAD project launched, Struggle of Addicts on Drugs. The cooperation of two foundations, whose purpose is to re-integrate people into society who are struggling with some kind of addiction. The Slovak partner offers residential care and therapy for those in need, while the Hungarian partner focuses on young people who dropped out of school.

On 21 September 2017 the Interreg SKHU Programme joined a conference titled “Cross-border developments in a spirit of Visegrad Cooperation”, that took place at the Corvinus University of Budapest. The experts – among other topics - discussed those local and regional development, cooperation possibilities, which could be derived from the cross-border infrastructure developments based on an agreement between the Hungarian and Slovakia governments done in 2014. The Joint Secretariat presented how the innovation of the Interreg V-A SKHU programme, the Territorial Action Plans for Employment can contribute to the implementation of the above mentioned agreement. 

 

 

Projects
