Bike Paradise

The project provides exceptional development opportunities for the region through creation of the new cycle route and its connection to the international cycle route EuroVelo6. The aim of the project is to create 16,88 km long cycle route that will pass through Štúrovo - Kamenica nad Hronom – Chľaba on Slovak side and through Ipolydamásd – Szob – Letkés on Hungarian site.

The cycle route will create an opportunity for an easier access to a number of natural sites in the area and will thus contribute to a significant increase in the number of visitors of the nearby nature reserves and national parks.   

Lead Beneficiary - Ipolydamásd Község Önkormányzata will be responsible for creation of the new cycle route in Hungary while Town of Štúrovo will create the new cycle route in Slovakia. Ister-Granum EGTC will build rest areas (7 pcs) and place information signs (80 pcs) within individual rest stops alongside newly build cycle route, which will contain information about the route. Ister-Granum EGTC will be also responsible for promotion of the project towards public.

The frequent use of cycle routes will have a positive impact on local SMEs and tourism-related organizations, as tourists will also use additional services during their stay in the region (accommodation, catering, bicycle rental, souvenir purchases, etc.). The presence of cyclists will most likely be reflected in a systematic improvement of the quality of provided services, moreover, it will contribute to strengthening cooperation among various actors in the field of tourism (enterprises, non-profit organizations, municipalities).
